CODEPO Project

COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT IN IRISH POTATO (CODEPO)

The Cooperative Development in Irish Potato (CODEPO) project was designed and implemented since 2017 by IMBARAGA Farmers Organization in Rwanda in partnership with AGRITERRA. Irish potato is among the most profitable crops in Rwanda and many cooperatives are involved in growing seeds and ware potatoes. These cooperatives are facing challenges that limit them to exercise their full potential in the potato value chain.

In collaboration with AGRITERRA, IMBARAGA supports these potato cooperatives in order to assist them to become flourishing commercial entities.

AGRITERRA has been working with IMBARAGA, since 1998. All projects aimed to empower IMBARAGA to be able to provide quality services to farmers/members in order to support them to improve their livelihoods and get out of poverty.

Agriterra (https://www.agriterra.org/) is an agri-agency founded in 1997 by Dutch agricultural organizations with the objective to strengthen their colleague farmers worldwide. Agriterra aims at economic development by professionalizing agricultural cooperatives which are the engine of rural economic growth.
